Hi!

Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I showcase my love for fashion while also sharing my adventures as a wife and mom.

Our First Family Camping Trip!

Our First Family Camping Trip!

Well, guys...we did it!  We survived our first family camping trip!  Here's a quick recap for you...

The pros:  Cooler temps (highs during the day were in the 70's. Perfection!), picturesque scenery (pine trees, mountains, lakes, beautiful fields of tall grass and wildflowers), chatting around the campfire, making s'mores, fishing, and unplugging and spending time as a family (Chase's dad and sister came along which was extra fun!)

The cons...a wet tent and forgetting half of our stuff!

Okay, okay...maybe not half but definitely a few essentials. We were setting up our tents when we realized we forgot the air mattresses and Chase's bag he packed with all of his extra clothes!  The girls definitely got their first taste of real camping with just sleeping bags on the hard ground...good thing we had planned staying only one night...

We were watching the weather before we went and there was a possibility of rain but we decided to take our chances.  And it actually ended up being almost perfect!  There was a lot of cloud cover and you could hear thunder in the distance, but the big storms seemed to just miss us.  It started to rain right before we went to bed and it was so relaxing listening to the raindrops hit the tent.  The rain got a little heavy at times but didn't last for more than an hour I would guess.  Well, when we got up in the morning, Chase's sister Chelsea (who took one for the team and slept in the same tent as the girls while Chase and I slept in the smaller two-person tent) told us the girls had woken her up super early in the morning complaining of wet sleeping bags and pajamas!  The water from the rain had gotten into their tent...we felt soooo bad!  Needless to say, between no air mattresses and the wet tent, no one slept that great.

After some fishing, pancakes and relaxing around the campfire the following morning, we packed everything up again and headed home. Even after a few major setbacks, I would say we all had a pretty good time!  The girls managed to entertain themselves and tough it out with minimal complaining which we consider a win!  We're excited to go back again when we're actually prepared, haha!  Here's a few more pics from the trip...

I hope you all have a great week! Thank you so much for stopping by!
